Theatre Arts I & II
Theatre Arts I & II is an upbeat, highly active elective that explores how to effectively create & develop characters that are believable. Students begin working with improvisational games & exercises to build a foundation of what is needed for character & scene development. Pantomime, stage movement, & scoring a script follow improvisation to enhance the actor’s delivery & rehearsal methods. Next, the student learns & applies proper techniques for effective vocal expression. The actor then dives deeper into character development throughout the rest of the course.

Students enrolled in Theatre Arts read & analyze plays, create scripts & theatre pieces, conceive scenic designs, and develop acting & audition skills. These activities incorporate elements of theatre history, culture, analysis, response, creative process, and integrated studies. Additionally, students can explore career opportunities in the theatre, attend & critique theatrical productions, and recognize the responsibilities & the importance of individual theatre patrons in their community.

Theatre Arts I & II is a prerequisite to the Advanced Theatre Arts & Advanced Acting classes at Noblesville High School. Students of all levels are enrolled in this course; no prior experience is necessary for this elective.
